COS Engineering was founded in Taiwan by three close friends who are serious about audio entertainment.
With an aversion to cacophony, an aspiration for style, and a penchant for simplicity, they harness extensive knowledge and experience in mathematics, electronics, and communication in their research and design process. The objective is to offer products that focus on musicality as well as aesthetics.
The D1 DAC & pre-amplifier, COS Engineering’s first product, made its debut in 2014 and was followed by the H1 audiophile-grade DAC & headphone amplifier.

This unassuming machine was like cleaning my glasses from fingerprint stains and climbing to the top of the Lake District in Autumn and just seeing how beautiful it all is, with bright sunlight glistening in the waters and a colourful palette of autumn leaves falling from the trees as far as the eyes can see.
You get the point. The amount of speed, detail, and colour from the music was second nature to this DAC. This might not be as full-featured and glitzy as some might like, but what is inside is pure magic.”

COS D10
DAC – Pre-Amp – Headphone Amp – US$ 5000
DESCRIPTION
D10 is a ‘dream gear’ for your beloved sonic pleasure. It is a DAC, a pre-amp, and a headphone amp, well built with streaming capability. Yes, the same spacious, supple and dynamically powerful sound that COS products have been offering. D10 is also a phono amp, one that delivers from your preferred vinyls luscious vibes.
COS ALGORITHM, BUFFER and RE-CLOCKING
COS’s proprietary algorithm with a linear-phase delay FIR filter can up-sample original data to 176.4K or 192K. D10 stores digital data in a one-second buffer before converting to analog signals, under the coordination of a crystal oscillator with a jitter precision less than 1ps and a dedicated re-clocking circuitry.
STREAMING (optional)
Stable and quality streaming is available, with or without a wire, for TiDAL, Spotify, Deezer, and Qobuz. Setup is easy with iOS and Android applications.
PHONO-AMPLIFIER (optional)
There are 5 loading resistors and 3 loading capacitors, all selectable, to accommodate phono cartridges of your choice. Other features include JFET input stage, on-board low-noise linear regulator, and handpicked components for RIAA curve matching and zero capacitor between audio signal paths. Extremely low in noise and distortion.
TWO-LAYER HOUSING
D10 has an NCT internal chassis and an aluminum exterior. This design provides a fortified frame that make possible lowered noise and minimized interference, plus a fine outlook.

There are 5 loading resistors and 3 loading capacitors, all selectable, to accommodate phono cartridges of your choice.
Other features include JFET input stage, on-board low-noise linear regulator, and handpicked components for RIAA curve matching and zero capacitor between audio signal paths. Extremely low in noise and distortion.
COS H1
DAC – Headphone Amplifier – US$ 1900
DESCRIPTION
H1 is an audiophile-grade DAC plus headphone amplifier, featuring COS Engineer’s proprietary digital-to-analogue algorithm. For those who seek acoustic joy through headphones, H1 is a ‘must have’ because of the details and the smooth yet dynamically powerful sound it provides.
COS ALGORITHM AND DSP
COS’s proprietary algorithm with a linear-phase delay FIR can up-sample original data to 176.4K or 192K, and this massive computation is handled by a powerful 3648 MMAC/second DSP.
BUFFER AND RE-CLOCKING
H1 stores digital data in a one-second buffer before converting to analog signals, under the coordination of a crystal oscillator with a jitter precision less than 1ps and a dedicated re-clocking circuitry.
HEADPHONE
4 power amplifiers to accommodate 2 unbalanced headphones or 1 balanced headphone.
POWER
H1 harnesses a selected switching mode power supply with specially designed circuitry for lower noise, and galvanic isolation between digital and analog circuitries are added to prevent audio signals from being contaminated.
VOLUME Control
H1’s volume control is composed of a ladder of high precision resistors and an array of analog switches which are low in resistance, noise, and distortion.
